Got Galoo?

Inspired by Maria Thomas' tangled frame ideas, I offered a Zentangle class that featured specific tangles that could be used to create personalized and unique photo enhancements. As I prepared for the class, with my library of trusty tangles in front of me, a new tangle emerged. This one was born in trying to 'clean up' a messy ink blob I had made while trying to do a whole other thing. This may be a tangle that has been done before, although I've looked around and didn't see it. So if any of you have seen it, let me know. I call this Galoo. If you like coloring in spaces, you will most probably have some fun with it!

    I like this pattern, and your idea of collecting patterns that are good for frames. Since you mentioned it, how DO you organize your patterns? :-)

    Webster, I keep my CZT binder handy, and I have some organized for teaching classes (which I print out on 4x6 cards and put them in a photo book). I don't really categorize them except when I teach a class. I find it more fun to look through lots of tangles as I need them. Sometimes categories create a rigid "box" for me, and then I don't see the potential of a tangle for another use. One day something might look like a good border, and another day, it might be useful for something very unexpected! To get inspired I often go to Tanglepatterns.com and look around for something to play with. I also like to keep a few of Sandy Bartholomew's books close by as there is always something fun in those (My favorite is the Alphatangle because it's so small and handy).

    I fell in love with this tangle before I even saw it -- Galoo! Hooray! That's the best name for a tangle ever, and the tangle is fun too. I love tangles that make good borders. Your creative inner child must be singing and dancing -- your Zentangles are always so full of joy.
