Only Forward

This week's Diva challenge seemed simple enough. Use stripes or border-like strings to create a Zentangle. I began the first one in a restaurant, waiting for some people to show up. As I saw them coming, I hurried up to finish the first section of the tile. Hurrying through a Zentangle is just not where it's at. However, moving forward is. So, as unhappy as I was about starting one so haphazardly, I knew I had to simply move forward from that point on. And so I did. Part of me wants to say that it's overworked but another part of me really doesn't care. It was fun to do and re-do and fill in and find places to rework. It was so much fun I had to do another. This time I felt more deliberate with each stroke, so the result was a little less complicated.
None of that really matters, though, as I felt my exercise was to move forward and that was all. I am grateful that this art form can allow us to move with any exercise we choose.

  3. I love both of these Carol. In the first one, I am intrigued by the strands reaching across the middle. In the second, I like the look of the inside of a piano??

  5. These are lovely. It's cool how you connected one side of the tile to the other - it's something I should try more often (lol) and I love how in your second tile your striped tangle is horizontal - I imagine being on a rickety bridge overlooking a beautiful tropical rainforest.

  6. Both so beautifully done and intricate. Fabulous shading. Love how some tangles "transition" in both tiles - I'm learning a lot about that with the entries for this challenge.!

  7. Both tiles are great but my favorite is the second one. It is so flowy.Great how you did the curly and round tangles on the left en the straight line patterns on the right. It makes a good balance in your tile.

  8. Both are great. Is there such a thing as a bad one anyway? All are wonderful in their own way I think. I like your comment about always moving forward too.
