String X Two

This week's challenge from the diva herself, Laura Harms: A Zentangle tile that begins with a double string (made with two pencils side by side). Fellow CZT, Margaret Bremner mentioned this on her blog and has already created some stunning tiles using the double pencil string. This is my first try with it, and I'm sure it's not my last, as it is LOTS of fun! Can't wait to do more. Thanks Laura and Margaret, for the inspiration! Looking forward to next week's challenge!

  1. Ooo, very nice! I've tended to do only one string, but I'll have to try using a few, and going off the tile, and... :-)

  2. ooh, there's lots of movement in this tile...excellent. Love how the 'fescu' type wiggly things seem to move behind the double string.

  3. Love the dark string and how it moves all through the tile.

  4. Fantastic depth, Carole! The strength and solidity of the double pencilled ribbon really pushes the other tangles backwards (or perhaps the ribbon is more emphatically in front?!). I really like this one - whichever way around it is [grin]. I'm enjoying seeing all the unique and inventive interpretations of these weekly challenges... they're such an inspiration!

  5. Love the background, lots of energy but it is subdued in colour and alsy by the prominent string. A delight to look at!

  6. Amazing! The bold line of the string draws the eye and the spider webbing keeps it engaged. Fantastic work!

  10. Just beautiful - I love how the background tangle is shaded so that it recedes and is a perfect compliment to the string in front!
