Thanks, Genevieve. The other day in a class, we all decided we would now light-heartedly refer to negative space as 'open space.' I'm liking that idea!
I've been doing Zentangles now for about six months but have never done a word such as your Peace. Can you give me a tip on how to start that. Do you just freehand the outline of the word and then zentangle around it? Appreciate your help.
Hi Mary, I traced (in light pencil) cardboard letters from a set I found in a scrapbook section of an art store. You could also freehand the letters. Then I used the pencil lines as my string. Have fun!
Carole that is just wonderful, I love the idea of open space, I will use that in my next class. My you have a all the Peace the seasons brings. Thank You again for all your Zentangle inspired work.
It is beautiful. I love the effect and how the letters in the "open space" pop out. Having read the other comments, I love the idea of saying "OPEN SPACE" rather than negative space, it's sooooo much more positive which is sooooo important don't you think. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous creation with us all.
This is very lovely. You chose the most wonderful patterns for a holiday card! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I love your use of negative space for the text.
